For service providers

Amara is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization licensed as a child-placing agency in the State of Washington. We have been providing services to our community’s families and children since our beginning as Medina Baby Home in 1921.

We help birth parents in crisis

If you have a client who is facing an unplanned pregnancy, or who has just given birth to a child and is uncertain of her ability to parent, we are available to assist you and your client. Learn more about our pregnancy options counseling services and how to make a referral.

We create adoptive families

Amara recruits, educates, and assesses families to provide permanent adoptive homes. We place children who currently reside in foster care. We also place infants and children whose birth parents voluntarily relinquish their parental rights. Learn more about how we certify and support adoptive families.

We provide seminars for service providers

As part of our mission to educate the wider community on child- and family-focused adoption, we offer free, on-site seminars to professionals who work with youth, women, and families.
